Home-Start RKH is a charity that provides vital support to local families with children under five during the important early years of raising a child. Our team of trained volunteers offer a lifeline to families facing challenging times, providing compassionate, non-judgmental, emotional and practical support at a time when it’s needed most.
Life-changing events can happen to anyone at any time and when they do, Home-Start RKH is there to help. We put a trained volunteer on the doorstep to walk alongside families, because by supporting parents and carers, we empower them, build their confidence and make them more resilient so that their children can thrive.
Last year we provided 4139 hours of support to 277 families, improving the life chances of 457 children. Most of our volunteers are amazing parents, who use their own experiences of parenting to help guide and support other parents who are struggling.
